A skier's thumb, also known as gamekeeper's thumb, is one of the most common hand injuries. A skier's thumb involves injury to the ligament (ulnar collateral ligament, abbreviated as UCL) that runs along the inside of the MCP thumb joint. This ligament provides stability to the thumb joint and prevents major displacement of the thumb.
The thumb brace from Reh4Medic features a metal splint that completely immobilizes the thumb, preventing the thumb from shifting in the wrong directions. This gives the thumb the chance to recover from the injury, or potential injuries can be prevented by wearing the brace. Furthermore, the brace is made of lightweight and durable materials suitable for use in extreme conditions such as rain, snow, and more. Due to the compact design, it is possible to use this brace under ski gloves.
The brace is very easy to put on, and the Velcro closures ensure an excellent fit and optimal compression.
